UX Designer - Researcher

At Duke and Grace, we seamlessly combine strategy, creativity and technology. User Experience has a crucial part in this. We're currently looking for another UX Designer - Researcher to strengthen the team. Do you go with the UX flow and want to guide website visitors to the right information? Then we might have an open spot for you!

How your working day may look like

As a UX Designer - Researcher, you will define the objectives, the purpose and the user experience vision of our clients’ digital platforms, services and products. You’ll work closely together with a multi-disciplinary team of specialists. You’ll develop a deep insight into the needs of the end users on the one hand and your client's business objectives on the other hand. You’ll identify digital service opportunities (jobs to be done) and help prioritize and translate all findings into a platform concept.

Finally, you'll help producing the outcome. You’ll stay on top of your outline throughout the process and support your colleagues by stepping in when needed. You’ll visualize your plans with sketches and conceptual flows. For the detailed design and production of all flows and screens, you'll be able to count on skilled UX and UI Designers.

More precisely, your job resposibilities consist of:

  • Uncovering user needs through various research methods and translating them into clear user requirements
  • Identifying (digital) service opportunities and recommending fitting solutions
  • Facilitating human-centered decision-making by aligning business objectives and user needs, so you can provide value for both. You're to go-to person to build a rationale, based on data and fact-based insights.
  • Setting up workshops to involve stakeholders, guiding them through the design validation process and helping them prioritize actions based on value and feasibility.
  • Building a feasible roadmap together with other specialists, which aligns the actions of Strategy, UX, Communication and Branding.
  • Visualizing and explaining solutions by using wireframes, process flows, sitemaps, concept maps …
  • Working out the foundation of the information architecture.
  • Designing a UX concept together with a Designer, Copywriter and Creative that simulates the experience you’re going for.
  • Defining high-level requirements and provide stewardship for the team that will work on the detailed design and development.
  • Being the UX/CX owner for your clients by cooperating with other specialists and proactively suggesting improvements and new opportunities in the long run.
  • Sharing insights and learnings with your UX peers to keep improving the way we work. For this, we have weekly syncs and 'knowledge sharing labs'.
  • Actively participating in growing and shaping our UX process and methodologies.

Your skillset

  • This is not your first rodeo. You have a broad range of experience in UX and some experience with Digital Service Design. That means you can ensure best practice in information architecture, interaction design and usability. Furthermore, you master common design thinking methodologies and are able to select the right ones according to the project’s needs and requirements. And, last but not least, you are able to work with popular wireframing or designing tools, such as Figma and Sketch.
  • Obviously, you have a deep interest in websites, platforms and apps as a communication solution.
  • You possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills
  • As a true people person, you're able to work together as a team towards the same goal, while showing respect for each other.
  • You're comfortable talking to clients, presenting ideas and concepts in a convincing way.
  • With your quick self-starter, proactive attitude, you have the ability to spot risks and mitigate them before they actually happen.
  • You're meticulous in your work: you like to dot the i's and cross the t's. You won't stop until it works.
  • You have a solution-oriented mindset, which means you're not afraid to try out new things and have a drive for staying on top of novelties within your domain.

Apart from your skillset, we are also looking for a real cultural fit. Duke & Grace is human-centered, team-oriented and growth-driven. It's simply in our DNA! Each of us has a vibrant personality - each in our own way. We love to learn from each other and are very communicative.

On our Careers page, you can find out more about our company culture and application procedure - just to be transparent.
