Finance Manager

Are you one of those people who actually loves balance sheets and following up on budgets? Looking forward to using your analytical skills to help our business grow? Can’t wait to dive into sets of data, such as EMAsphere, and have it shower you with insights? If you nodded three times, then you might be the Finance Manager we’re looking for!

What your working day may look like

With your business awareness and insights in Duke & Grace' finances, you're both a business partner and the go-to person for all financial questions.

Together with our Senior Accounting Officer, you both will actively participate in the day-to-day accountancy challenges and tasks and the end of the month closing, tax returns ... for which you will be ultimately responsible. That means you'll coordinate and follow up the monthly closings, report to the business and watch over the yearly high-level budget process in close collaboration with the leads and managers per department. By doing that, you help our leaders to gain insights into those budgets, see new possibilities and optimize the value for both our customers and Duke & Grace. Furthermore, you'll also be responsible for proactively managing our facilities, helping our HR Manager to make our fleet future-proof and helping our leads to optimize their budgets.

In collaboration with our external accountant experts, you'll perform the annual Balance Sheet, prepare the annual statutory accounts for external audit, prepare income tax filing and various periodic reporting. You’ll report all that directly to our People & Performance Director.

As there is always room for improvement, we also expect you to coordinate, review and further develop our processes regarding payment runs and cashflow. Based on that, you'll upgrade current accounting policies or build new ones.

Last but not least, you 'll be coaching and leading our Senior Accounting Officer.

Your skillset

  • This is definitely not your first rodeo. You have minimum 5 years of accounting experience, of which ideally several years in financial consulting or auditing. In other words, Belgian accounting and statutory background hold no secrets for you.
  • You're a generalist, an all-rounder: you love to combine strategic business thinking with hands-on accounting work (such as statutory reporting). In that way, you will be able to fully support the growth of our company.
  • Both backward-looking (accounting) and forward-looking (budgeting and forecasting) financial insights are your thing.
  • You’re a great communicator who loves to use his or her knowledge to help others. Besides, you can put your work into words in such a way that even a layman could understand what you're talking about.
  • You have a heart for digital, meaning: you love to automate whatever possible, so you can spend more time on analysing than inputting data.
  • Quality above all. You pride on delivering qualitative work.
  • You are a triple threat: you can work autonomously, love to work in a team and have a coaching way of leading your team.

Apart from your skillset, we are also looking for a real cultural fit. Duke & Grace is human-centered, team-oriented and growth-driven. It's simply in our DNA! Each of us has a vibrant personality - each in our own way. We love to learn from each other and are very communicative.

On our Careers page, you can find out more about our company culture and application procedure - just to be transparent.

“We are the financial compass of Duke & Grace. Our management can rely on our crystal clear reporting. We also support the sales team, the Project Managers and HR with financial and legal documentation. Efficiency, automation and our no-nonsense approach provide the motivating pace in our daily operations.”
