What your working day may look like

We use Business Design for our clients to look for new customer value in their (digital) offering. You start from the consumer's point of view: what do people, prospects or customers need? You look for the best solution, irrelevant of your client’s current offering. Then  you add your knowledge of digital business models, inspirational companies and digital knowhow in order to  map out possible improvements.  

  • You take a deep dive in the analysis of your clients’ digital business potential. Reading up on reports, your interview notes, data from your marketing colleagues. Your personal challenge - regardless of the amount of experience you have - will be to select the information you want to use. The ability to distinguish the main challenges from the side issues is essential. 
  • You are responsible for the (digital) future of your clients. Yes, feel the weight of that responsibility. And if that is not enough, you also lay the foundational analysis on which your colleagues will continue to build. The marketeer needs your segmentation and consumer insights. The UX architect needs the most logical structure for the applications, your take on the market fit, your potential future vision and initial functionality ideas. Your Branding colleague will use your analysis on how to structure the company best. Your Client Service Manager needs to know what the global challenges are for the projects and the client. 
  • You will be part of a small, but courageous team of business designers. We get together every week to share knowledge, best practices and general interesting insights we learned during our research. 

Projects might include assignments like: suggesting new business models, new revenue streams and digital potential, finding features for a platform, discovering consumer needs, platform or ecosystem strategy, marketing opportunities, segmentation, go-to-market approach, positioning, competitor positioning, …. Take a look at the white papers and reports (e.g. insurance, construction, …) on our website to get a feel of the subjects we tackle.

Your skillset

  • You are familiar with (or if you just now googled, tell us) the following tools to discover all digital potential: interviews, market research, customer research, competitor research, keyword research, segmentation methods, journey framework, principles and roadmaps. 
  • You have a background in either business strategy, digital marketing or user experience design (UX). Experience with two or three is a plus. 
  • The person we are looking for can come from a very broad spectrum of profiles, including (but not limited to!) Analyst, UXer, Economist, Market Researcher, Consultant, Digital Marketeer, Service Designer, CX Designer, … 
  • You ideally have 3-5 years of experience in one of the above fields, making you confident in your ability to carry big responsibilities and unafraid to be assertive towards both clients and colleagues.
  • You are a critical thinker, you trust data over assumptions and you have a Digital-first and consumer centric mindset
  • You have a need for continuous learning and growing, even when things get complex or when the matter at hand goes beyond your own expertise.
  • Clear communication comes natural to you. You are good at - or eager to learn - presenting to clients. 
  • You actively keep up to date with novelties within your domain and are not afraid to take on challenges to bring your knowledge to the next level. And - of course - you can’t wait to organize workshops to share your expertise with your team
